Styles we teach

Mambo and Salsa 

Mambo and salsa are two of the most popular ballroom dances taught at The Hive Ballroom Dance in Tampa, Florida. These dances originate from Latin America and are known for their energetic and sensual movements. Students will learn the basic steps, turns, and combinations of these dances, which will help build their confidence on the dance floor.

The Rumba 

The Rumba is characterized by its slow, romantic movements and is often referred to as the "dance of love." Students will learn to express themselves through the music and develop their technique and style.

Merengue

Merengue is a lively and upbeat dance that originates from the Dominican Republic. It is a simple dance to learn, making it a popular choice for beginners. Students will learn the basic steps and turns of the merengue and how to dance in sync with their partner.

Bachata

A Latin dance originating from the Dominican Republic, it is known for its sensual movements and close embrace. Students will learn the basic steps and turns of the bachata, as well as develop their timing and musicality.

Cha Cha

Cha cha is a fun and energetic dance that originated in Cuba. It is characterized by its quick and precise footwork and playful movements. Students will learn the basic steps, turns, and timing of the cha-cha and develop their styling and technique.

The Waltz

Foxtrot

East & West Coast Swing

The Hustle

Tango

Country two-step is a famous line dance that is often seen at country music events. It is characterized by its simple and repetitive movements, making it an excellent dance for beginners. Students will learn the basic steps and turns of the country two-step, as well as develop their timing and coordination.

Bolero

Line dancing is a fun and social way to learn new dances and meet new people. The Hive Ballroom Dance offers a variety of line dances for students to learn and enjoy, including the electric slide, cupid shuffle, and wobble.
